Selections from Caxton's translation retaining his preface and the spelling of the original, edited with notes and a glossary by Gertrude Burford Rawlings. The publisher’s vellum binding with yapp edges, featuring a knight and castle illustration printed in brown and stamped with gilt by H. Granville Fell. The design has been lightly highlighted in watercolor. Brown lettering and gilt decoration to spine. Featuring the bookplate of Nathaniel V. Lenehan on the front pastedown, along with a page of hand-written notes on the history of this title attached to the ffep. Measures approx. 6.5" x 8". Spotting to vellum and light soiling to page edges.
