Bookplate of John King Van Rensselaer to front pastedown. Three letters from the author's brother (Louis Sandys) to Van Rensselaer included within an envelope pasted to the rear pastedown:

  • A letter describing this book and noting it would be sent to Van Rensselaer if a copy was available, along with genealogical details of Sandys' family
  • A transcription of the "New York Historical Society Record" review of the book from 1902
  • A letter to accompany the above, sent alongside this copy, describing how the book came about
