Printed on fine wove Alexandra paper. Red cloth with black lettering to front cover and spine. Though no limitation is noted in the book, Sandburg wrote to Thomas Mosher in 1906 that "two hundred copies of this book have been printed" (Crane). Measures approx. 4.25" x 7.25". The Asgard Press is most well known as the press of Carl Sandburg's first works. "In about 1903, Wright installed a small handpress in the basement of his house and established the Asgard Press. Philip Wright, his wife, and their three sons operated the press, taking books through all processes from typesetting to binding. ... Professor Wright was the first to recognize the potential of [Carl] Sandburg's early experimental writing and, even at the time, spoke of the younger man's 'genius'" (Crane).
