Beautiful full-page frontispiece by Goodhue, "The Cathedral and the City of Chartes from the River Evre", along with a 19-line opening initial in red. Green paper over boards, with paper spine label intact. Measures approx. 7.75" x 11". Some minor wear to spine tips, and a few very light spots to covers. 

This copy presented by Goodhue to Cleland: "For Thomas Maitland Cleland -- My dear Cleland. Whether you kept a copy of this example of your able and conscientious workmanship I don't know -- but I take my genuine pleasure in sending this to you in my own book. Very faithfully and very gratefully yours. Bertram G. Goodhue. June 23rd, 1920." With the small bookplate of T. M. Cleland on the pastedown.
