Bound in light brown full grained modeled morocco with central image of a man and woman in profile on a field of solid gilt tooling (since discolored at the edges), with a modeled design of leaves and fruit surrounding. The author and title have been tooled in blind below the design, with the title tooled in blind to the spine between two bands. Small modeled design in blind to the rear cover. Light blue modeled endpapers. Bookplate of Joseph A. McCullough on the front pastedown. Measures 5.25" x 8". Some light rubbing to edges and corners, fingerprint marks to upper portion of page preceding title page, title page, and dedication page.
A similar binding, in lighter-colored morocco and with tooling of a lesser quality, was sold at the Clifford J. Awald PBA sale in 2014.
