[Fine Binding | Sangorski & Sutcliffe] Poetry of Byron

Byron, Lord (Chosen and Arranged by Matthew Arnold). Poetry of Byron. London: Macmillan and Co., 1910. Bound in deep red crushed morocco by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, featuring a design of dotted and solid vertical lines to the covers, with a wreath of inlaid navy flowers as a centerpiece, enclosing the title on the front cover and "B" & crown stamps on the rear. Each corner has an inlaid navy flower, as well. Five bands to spine, with title to the second compartment and gilt ruled design to the remaining compartments. Gilt-ruled turn-ins with light blue endpapers, top edge gilt. Measures approx. 4.25" x 6.25". Some very light rubbing to edges, spine darkened, offsetting to endpapers.

An early S&S binding and a lovely example.
