"New edition in small form". Bound in cream colored pigskin for Hatchard's of Piccadilly, with front cover featuring a design of large Tudor roses and leaf clusters connected by curving gouges, surrounding the title in gilt. Title and author in gilt to 2nd and 3rd compartments of spine, remaining compartments decorated with gouges, leaves, and blooming thistle tool. Back cover features gilt ruling and criss-crossing fillets. Tooling at corners of turn-ing. Bright marbled endpapers. Measures approx. 5.25" x 7.5". Rubbing and soiling to covers, along with some fading to gilt on the front cover. Spine "bleached" to a lighter shade than covers. Foxing to pages.
