The Sale Hill Press was a "small hand press printing works, founded 1904 by George A. Hammond (d. 1918) at Sale Hill near Sheffield. The publishing house was later moved to London. Hammond ran the hand press privately 1904-1909, then joined WH Smith & Son and formed the Red Lion Press with E.G. Perman in 1914. Hammond printed few works: two small mss. and some books, including William Blake's "Songs of Innocence" (1907) and Dante Gabriel Rossetti's "Hand and Soul" (1908), both privately printed in fewer than 20 copies" ([translated from the German], Brill).
