Numerous color-printed wood-engraved illustrations in the text.
Bound in full dark brown morocco by Riviere & Son, with a striking art nouveau design in gilt on the bottom half of the front cover: a thorned bush extending upwards and outwards culminating in leaves and flowers. Three separate floral decorations flank the bush on either side. Gilt lettering to spine. Gilt-ruled turn-ins with lightly marbled endpapers. Top edge gilt. Covers bound in. Measures approx. 7.25" x 9.25". Approx. 4-5" crack to upper front hinge of cover has been repaired, along with 1" cracks on the bottom of the lower front hinge and upper rear cover also repaired. Some light rubbing and small chip to upper spine tip.
